D. J. Shannahan, President of Sharp Water, was elected to a 3 year term on the Board of Directors for the Water Quality Association at their recent convention in Las Vegas, Nevada. Shannahan has managed Sharp Water (formerly Tolan Water Service) for more than 15 years, and has been a member of the Water Quality Association since 1990. In January of 2004, DJ and his wife Cindy purchased the company from Chesapeake Utilities Corporation. With a firm belief that education and certification adds to the professionalism his customers have come to expect from Sharp Water, DJ has earned the following certifications from the Water Quality Association:.
Certified Water Specialist - Level VI (highest possible)
Certified Installer
Certified Contractual Operator (for water plant operations)
Shannahan worked closely with the WQA and elected officials in Delaware to create Senate Bill # 427 which insures that customers throughout the state will receive ethical treatment from qualified water professionals. In addition, Shannahan has been a member of the WQA Septic Tank Task Force for the past year and currently serves as the vice-chairman. Shannahan also holds licenses in Maryland and Delaware as a Water Conditioning Installer, Class 3 Water Treatment Plant Operator, and Class 2 Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator.
With a brand new 12,000 square foot facility in Salisbury, Maryland along with a branch office in Dover, Delaware, Sharp Water services the entire Delmarva Peninsula including all of Delaware along with the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Virginia.
